BED AND BREAKFAST
If you're looking for a relaxed and friendly rural retreat with a touch of luxury ‑ somewhere where you can take a deep breath and unwind following a day out exploring the Shropshire Hills then Rorrington Hall B&B is the place for you.
The beautiful room on the 2nd floor of the hall is complimented by the 6 foot “super king” size four poster bed and the quirky bathroom. The 2nd floor of the hall hadn’t been used since the 1920s, and we have started to sympathetically restore each of the seven rooms/areas.
We finished restoring the en-suite room early in 2009, and opened in April 2009.
Relax after your journey with a cup of tea and a slice of our homemade cake in the cosy lounge. Enjoy the view from your bedroom, watch the birds and plan your stay.
The rooms are warm and pampering, all with en‑suite bathrooms, the beds are so comfortable, with Egyptian cotton sheets and the nights so quiet that you may find it difficult to get up for breakfast, which is a leisurely affair; lots of choice for meat eaters and vegetarians alike, and made with the best of local produce and our own free range eggs, home cured bacon and homemade sausages
CHECK IN AND DEPARTURE TIMES
Check in is between 4pm & 6pm and we ask that guests vacate their rooms by 10.30am on day of departure. If you will be arriving after 6pm please let us know so that we can arrange our evening accordingly.
RORRINGTON HALL ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
We have native hedgerows to encourage more birds. We leave the paddock un‑mown apart from the paths. This encourages a great number of birds. We try to avoid using any chemicals in the garden.
The nettle patches provide a wonderful environment for butterflies and we have seen an increase in these over the years. We also leave log piles around which are very attractive to the hedgehogs, stoats, toads, frogs and newts.
We recycle as much as possible. South Shropshire District Council has a 2 weekly rubbish collection. Please recycle what you can and we request that you don’t leave any excessive rubbish.
We recycle cardboard, plastic bottles, glass bottles, newspaper, greetings cards, magazines and drink and food cans. It would help if you could leave these beside the bin in your room. We also recycle all food waste including cooked. We have a wormery for our kitchen waste and compost bins.
We have a bed linen policy. These are changed every 7 days ( and with each new set of guests obviously! ) unless you request a more frequent change. Towels are replaced daily with fresh ones.
We have a septic tank. Anything that is not quickly bio degradable stays there and has to be cleaned out. We have had problems with people flushing sanitary items etc. down the toilet – so please toilet paper only.
We are on a water meter. We have lots of water butts to water the garden. Please don’t leave the tap running when brushing your teeth.
Please turn off lights when not in use. We have replaced all bulbs with low energy ones(except for those operated from a dimmer switch)
We shop locally where possible which cuts down our own miles.
